Karlos Vemola (9-1) and Stephan Bonnar (20-7) will square off at UFC on Versus 5. Jon Anik, host of MMA Live on ESPN, broke the news via Twitter.
UFC on Versus 5 is currently rumored to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 14.
Vemola looks to continue his reign of terror on the 205 pound division in the UFC. After losing his promotional debut at heavyweight to Jon Madsen, Vemola dropped down. In his first light heavyweight fight Vemola beat the brakes off of Seth Petruzelli in the first round. The Czech fighter used his scary combination of wrestling and pure strength to run through Petruzelli.
After a three fight losing streak, including one controversial cut stoppage due to a headbutt, Stephan Bonnar had to get a victory. He was matched up with Krzysztof Soszynski, the man who had defeated him via doctor's stoppage. Bonnar brought the fight straight to Soszynski and was able to TKO him. Bonnar then fought Igor Pokrajac and defeated him via unanimous decision. Bonnar will now look to continue his streak against another European in Vemola.
