Honestly the match-ups great for me (Thiago Silva). He's a guy that likes to brawl, likes to stand-up and is not going to necessarily push for a takedown. Guarantee it's going to be a great fight (smiles). I'm pretty excited. When I saw the Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva fight it was a real knock against him. He was going in undefeated and Machida just tears him apart. I thought he was one of the top contenders and one of the real up-and-comers. Well I guess he was a little overrated but nobody has figured out Machida yet so there's not a lot of stock to put into that fight. Like always, I'll be much improved since my last fight. I feel like I'm definitely at my prime now. Every few months I fight and I'm always a lot different than my last fight. I'm always improving. I'm improving my wrestling, jiu-jitsu and boxing. I'm always stepping up to the next level. I'm excited to go show off a little bit."
-UFC lightweight contender Keith Jardine believes he is in his prime right now and is ready to "show off" against Thiago Silva at UFC 102. Jardine believes Silva may have been a bit overrated before his loss to current light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, and admits to thinking Silva was a top contender before the loss.
The Jackson Submission Fighting product is coming off a close decision loss to Quinton Jackson at UFC 96 in early 2009. He is currently 4-3 in his last 7 fights with impressive victories over top opponents like Wilson Gouveia, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell and Brandon Vera.
