UFC light-heavyweight Keith Jardine has an upcoming fight scheduled, but he will not yet reveal who he has been matched up against.
"I finally got a fight! Thank you Joe Silva. I'm not saying who yet... ;-)>," Jardine wrote today on his Twitter account.
Jardine has been training a lot at Greg Jackson's Submission Fighting with current TUF 10 contestant James McSweeney. Today, Jardine also worked on his stand up with Carlos Condit. "He has some of the best stand-up in the game today," Jardine wrote via Twitter.
From this, fans can take away either of two things. One: Jardine is fighting a striker and wants to further his own striking skills. Or two: Jardine is fighting a ground specialist and wants to overpower his opponent with striking talent and power.
In November, there was speculation that Jardine would face Rich Franklin at UFC 110 in Australia. However, the former UFC middleweight champion recently said that he has no Octagon return date, and is looking to take a few more months off before returning.
After Jardine's devastating KO loss to Thiago Silva at UFC 102 in August, the former bounty hunter is looking to add another win to his 14-6-1 MMA record. While also suffering a decision loss to Quinton Jackson at UFC 96 earlier this year (in a bout that took home "Fight of the Night" honors), Jardine has picked up many wins in the light-heavyweight division. His most impressive victories include a split decision over Chuck Liddell at UFC 76, another split decision over Brandon Vera at UFC 89, and a TKO over Forrest Griffin at UFC 66.
