Keith Jardine vs. Matt Hamill likely for TUF 11 Finale
by Jacob Camargo on March 25, 2010

A light-heavyweight bout between Keith Jardine and Matt Hamill is reportedly in the works for The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale in June.

Though not yet officially announced, TUF 11 Finale will likely take place on June 19 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will air live on Spike TV. The event will feature the middleweight finalists from the 11th season of the Ultimate Fighter square off for a six-figure UFC contract.

Jardine (15-7-1) will likely be fighting to keep his job with the UFC after losing three straight inside the Octagon against the likes of Quinton Jackson, Thiago Silva and most recently Ryan Bader at UFC 110 last month. Prior to the losses, he picked up a big win over Brandon Vera at UFC 89 in October 2008.

Jardine has been very inconsistent during his time in the UFC, putting together an even 6-6 record with the promotion including other notable Octagon wins over Kerry Schall, Mike Whitehead, Wilson Gouveia, Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell; while suffering other UFC losses to Stephan Bonnar, Houston Alexander and Wanderlei Silva.

Hamill (8-2) is currently riding a three-fight winning steak, with wins coming over Reese Andy, Mark Munoz and Jon Jones in a controversial disqualification win at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale in December. Hamill was awarded the win after Jones landed numerous illegal "12-to-6" elbow strikes on him while he was down.

Hamill has fared better during his time in the Octagon, as he has put together a solid 7-2 UFC record, scoring other Octagon wins over Jesse Forbes, Seth Petruzelli, Rex Holman and Tim Boetsch. His other UFC losses have came against notables such as Michael Bisping and former UFC middleweight champ Rich Franklin.

We all know who I'll be rooting for. :p justinmw2008: hmmmm i will half to say it look like a good fight hamil and jardine are good fighters but there last few fights haven;t been up to date but if i had to pick i would pick hamil for his heart and his wrestling skills the fact of the matter is look at the fight jardine was in aginst ryan vader he got tookin down 5 time is hamil can hold him down he has a chance to win this. Mickey knox: I'm gonna laugh my ass off when Hammill KHTFO. Jardine's been KO'd cold too many times in the last three years, I don't think his head can take it anymore. The Hitman: random matchup. pretty meaningless as far as title contention goes, but i wouldnt be suprised to see the loser get let go Anthony: Well at least one of them is coming off a win! :p Wandering_Minstrel: Did you hear that? It sounds like... who cares? Oma Plata: It will be interesting to see how Hamill comes back from the injures sustained against bones. Other than that........ Oma Plata mma3dge: i think its a good matchup but Jardine def has more to lose here. he has to be extremely close to the chopping block.
