Keith Jardine's first post-UFC fight will come against Trevor Prangley at Shark Fights 13
by Jacob Camargo on July 13, 2010

Nine-year veteran Keith Jardine's first fight since his release from the UFC will come against Shark Fights light-heavyweight champion Trevor Prangley in a non-title bout at Shark Fights 13 on September 11 in Lubbock, Texas.

Prangley confirmed the news with Sherdog.com earlier today.

"I'm looking forward to getting back in the cage after my last feeble performance," said Prangley. "Keith is a super tough opponent and a real nice guy. It's good to see Shark Fights getting the higher caliber fighters and putting on consistently better shows."

Jardine (15-8-1) was cut from the UFC following his most recent loss against Matt Hamill at TUF 11 Finale in June. The loss was Jardine's fourth straight defeat inside the Octagon, with previous losses coming against Quinton Jackson, Thiago Silva and Ryan Bader.

Jardine, who was a cast member on the second season of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series, departed the UFC with a 6-7 record during his five-year tenure with the promotion, scoring notable Octagon wins over Mike Whitehead, Wilson Gouveia, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell and Brandon Vera. His other UFC losses came against Wanderlei Silva, Houston Alexander and Stephan Bonnar.

Prangley (22-6-1) is winless in his last two bouts, most recently suffering a first round submission loss against Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce: "Los Angeles" on June 16. He previously won six straight fights, which included a win over Marcus Sursa at Shark Fights 7 this past November to capture the promotion's light-heavyweight title.

Prangley has fought for other notable organizations throughout his nine-year career such as Bodog Fight, Maximum Fighting Championship, Arena Rumble and the UFC. The South African holds other notable career wins over the likes of Matt Horwich, Yuki Kondo, Falaniko Vitale, Chael Sonnen, Jeremy Horn and Travis Lutter
