by Jeff Jones on May 27, 2010

In a recent interview, British fighter Paul Kelly confirmed that his fight against Jacob Volkmann at UFC 116 has been canceled. Kelly told Fighter's Only that the fight is now off due to the processing of his US work visa. The fight is likely to be rescheduled for UFC 117, taking place August 7th in Oakland, California.

Since joining the UFC in January 2008, Paul Kelly (10-2) has combined for a 4-2 record. His most recent fight was at UFC 112, where he successfully submitted Matt Veach by guillotine choke in the second round. His other victories have come against Rolando Delgado, Troy Mandaloniz and fellow Brit Paul Taylor.

Jacob Volkmann (10-2) was also victorious in his last fight. After moving down to the lightweight division, he defeated Ronnys Torres via split decision back in March. That win snapped a two fight losing streak to veterans Paulo Thiago and Martin Kampmann.
