A light-heavyweight bout between former UFC heavyweight champ Kevin Randleman and undefeated light-heavyweight prospect Stanislav Nedkov has been verbally agreed upon for Sengoku 11 on Nov. 7 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan. News of the bout was first reported by MMAjunkie.com.
Randleman was originally rumored to be fighting Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal at Sengoku 11, however, that bout now appears to have been shelved. Randleman previously fought for World Victory Road's Sengoku promotion in May 2008, where he defeated Ryo Kawamura in his debut with the promotion at Sengoku 2.
Randleman (17-13) has put together a dismal 2-6 record in his last eight bouts and was most recently defeated by Mike Whitehead at Strikeforce: "Lawler vs. Shields" in June. He also dropped fights against Quinton Jackson, Fedor Emelianenko, Mirko Filipovic and Mauricio Rua over that span.
Fighting mostly for Pride and the UFC over his 13-year career, Randleman will look to get back to the winning form that allowed him to put together notable victories over the likes of Maurice Smith, Pedro Rizzo, Renato Sobral, Murilo Rua and Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.
Nedkov is coming off an attention-grabbing win over the very experienced Travis Wiuff via third round TKO in his Sengoku debut in May at Sengoku Eighth Battle. The Pancrese and Shooto veteran has put together a 7-0 record since turning pro in March 2007. The Bulgarian has finished all but one of his seven wins, including five coming in the first round.
