Kim Couture vs. Kerry Vera very possible for Strikeforce fight
by Natalia Baage on September 24, 2009

The Couture vs. Vera fight is likely to make fans think about the UFC 105 headlining fight. But not in this case.

This time, Couture vs. Vera refers to the ladies: Kim Couture (the ex-wife of Randy Couture) and Kerry Vera (the wife of Brandon Vera). According to Sherdog.com, the two women have verbally agreed to fight each other in a 135-pound Strikeforce bout. Contracts are reportedly said to be signed soon.

While the date has not yet been set, Nov. 20 is a possibility. If the Nov. 20 date is confirmed, the women will fight each other one week after their husbands battle at UFC 105 on Nov. 14.

Kerry Vera (1-0) won her debut professional fight against Leslie Smith, who was undefeated before she fought Vera. Vera was also the winner of the 2007 season of Oxygen's "Fight Girls" - a female Muay Thai elimination competition.

Kim Couture (1-1) and her husband have filed for divorce, but he continued to help her train at Xtreme Couture. In her first MMA fight, she suffered a defeat to Kim Rose via unanimous decision. However, in her second fight, she defeated Lina Kvokov by TKO in the first round. She has not fought since Nov. 2008.
