Kimbo Slice: I came in this thinking, hoping, that (expletive) tries to knock me out.
by Natalia Baage on December 04, 2009

"Every fighter that fights in The Ultimate Fighter -- they're good. You know? They can be considered the best at what they do. You just have to use who you are and what you have and define your fight game and be prepared to fight a guy who's the elite at the game. I wish this fucker [Houston Alexander] would try to knock me out because I know I'm going to try to knock him out. My mentality might be a little different from others. I want a person to try to knock me out. I came in this thinking, hoping, that fucker tries to knock me out. I don't care how good a guy is - won't know it until we bang. I know I got something here (raises fists) and I hit him, catch him with this... it's going to be lights out. I know it's going to be pretty technical, I mean, considering he has a similar style to mine, give or take a little muay thai here and there. I never feel pressure. It'll show in the fight. People will be able to see and judge it for themselves. For the most part about it, it's going to be a thump. Somebody's going to get knocked out."  - Kimbo Slice

"What went through my mind when they asked me about the fight was 'wow.' That was the first thing that came to my mind (laughs). 'Hmm, let me think about that one... 'yes! I'm going to go ahead and take that fight.' This fight is the most important fight of my MMA career. For one, you still have to prove to your peers, you still have to prove to your fans, you still have to prove to the media, that you belong. He has a street fighting background. I also have a street fighting background, but understand that we're with camps. We have a coaching staff and the coaching staff are coming with game plans. If the audience is thinking it's just going to be an all-out brawl, I honestly don't think it's going to be that way. I think it's going to be planned out and both camps are going to come in with a game plan. This is probably going to end up being knock out of the night (smiles). It's going to be me doing the knocking out."  - Houston Alexander

Both Kimbo Slice and Houston Alexander have the same feeling about the fight: somebody is going to get knocked out.  But where they differ is about who will end up on the Octagon floor.

After a will-he-or-won't-he TUF 10 season for Slice, he was ruled out of a potential come back in last night's episode when the doctor told him he had arthritis in his knee.  While the doctor said that he can fight with the arthritis, Slice said that he would not accept the fight if he could not fight at 100%.

Rumors swirled over the past months about Slice's next fight.  There were rumors that he would face Alexander, but without a UFC contract, it was tough for fans to pinpoint if the rumors were true or not.  The big story came from a Canadian radio show that Slice appeared on, when he mistakenly stated that he would be fighting Alexander on Dec. 12 in Memphis, TN, which would have been UFC 107.  While that story was taken to be true, it turned out that it was false.

Fans were thrilled at the prospect of a Slice...
