Kimbo Slice Set To Face James Thompson In Historic CBS Event
by Jason Benfari on April 09, 2008

A report from NBCSports.com is stating that Kimbo Slice will face James Thompson on May 31 in an EliteXC show to be televised live in a prime time slot on CBS. The fight card will be historic as it represents the very first MMA card to be shown live on primetime network television. The fight is expected to be officially announced next week.

Thompson (14-8) is a former PRIDE veteran who has lost six of his past eight fights, recently suffering a KO defeat to Brett Rogers in February. The 6'5" 264 pounder is known for his slugging, aggressive style which should play perfectly into the hands of Kimbo Slice who is known for his extraordinary punching power and quickness.
