Even though Kimbo Slice lost to Roy Nelson on Wednesday's episode of "The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights," the fight has been recorded as the fourth most-watched fight on United States televisions in mixed martial arts history.
Kimbo Slice currently owns three of the four top most-watched fights, according to MMAFighter.com. While his TUF 10 fight came in fourth place, he also has possession of the first and third spots as well.
Here are the top four, in order of viewership, including their method, date and aired television station:
1. Kimbo Slice d. James Thompson by TKO on May 31, 2008, shown on CBS.
2. Tito Ortiz d. Ken Shamrock (third fight) by KO on Oct. 10, 2006, shown on Spike TV.
3. Seth Petruzelli d. Kimbo Slice by TKO on Oct. 4, 2008, shown on CBS.
4. Roy Nelson d. Kimbo Slice by TKO during TUF 10, shown on Spike TV.
The Ultimate Fighter 10 episode, which aired on Wednesday, Sept. 30, drew 5.3 million viewers for the entire show, with an addition 0.8 million viewers tuning in to see the fight. That night, TUF 10 had the highest-ever ratings on the Spike TV network, with 6.1 million total viewers.
