Kimbo Slice is a fan of Brock Lesnar's. But he's not. Slice acknowledges that Lesnar has made a big impact in the world of mixed martial arts since he first debuted in the UFC.
"I don't like him, but I like him, if you know what I mean," Slice told The Telegraph.
Slice sees a resemblance between the two of them. They share a small bond due to the fact that they were both questioned when they came to MMA, and no matter what happens in their careers, they probably always will be. Lesnar is currently answering the audience's silent questions by capturing and defending the heavyweight belt.
"He's the biggest threat in the division," said Slice. "He's for real, and he's got to be taken seriously as the champ."
While slice is still making his way up the MMA food chain, he anticipates wins in his future. With Lesnar as the title holder, and Slice's fighting star rising, could there be a possibility of the two men meeting in the Octagon?
"I think a fight between us one day would be good for TV and good for the fight game," Slice said.
Slice (3-1) can be seen every Wednesday night on Spike TV in season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter. The former Elite XC fighter made his professional debut in 2007. He holds wins over Tank Abbott, Bo Cantrell and James Thompson. His sole loss came from Seth Petruzelli in 2008. Petruzelli was a last-minute replacement for Ken Shamrock, who had to pull out of the event due to an injury, a cut, above his eye.
Lesnar (4-1), a former professional wrestler, captured the UFC heavyweight belt from Randy Couture at UFC 91 in Nov. 2008. His following fight, at UFC 100, was a rematch against Frank Mir, the only man to defeat him, who had submitted him via knee bar at UFC 81. While Lesnar won the bout, his controversial post-fight words left the fans, commentators, and even Dana White, appalled. Next up for Lesnar is top contender Shane Carwin. The two will fight at UFC 106 on Nov. 21.
