"Personally I really want to fight Mousasi. People say to me, ‘Do you really wanna fight him?' But I just think no one is unbeatable, so yes... I wanna fight Mousasi. I think I can beat him and I will beat him. Also, I'm done with Sherdog Radio. They started saying stuff about me like I have a big ego and I'm a loud mouth. They made out that I said I wanted to fight Fedor now, I never once said that in the interview with them. When I am worthy to take a fight with Fedor, I will take it. That's all I said. I'd love to fight Fedor, I think I could beat him. I'd never be like, ‘I'm King Mo and I wanna fight Fedor.'" -Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal
Undefeated super-prospect Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal (6-0) is looking for a serious step up in competition after his first-round demolition of well-regarded journeyman Mike Whitehead.
Lawal a highly decorated amature wrestler has utilized his immense athletic ability to transform himself into a potent knockout artist and exciting striker. The former Big 12 wrestling champion quickly went from big time prospect to full-fleged contender in the Strikeforce light-heavyweight and heavyweight divisions after securing back-to-back first round knockouts over Mark Kerr and the aformentioned Whitehead.
He has also wasted little time carving out a name for himself amongst fans with his flamboyant attitude, flashy in-ring entrances, and notable fued with former UFC champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
Mousasi, who is currently regarded among the very best light-heavyweights in the world, would represent a tremendous leap in competition for Lawal who has yet to fight a serious contender. Lawal may be better served fighting a mid-level contender such as Ranato Sobral, or Sokoudjou first, before stepping in the deep end of the light-heavyweight division.
