World Victory Road's Sengoku Eleventh Battle event is nearly complete with yesterday's announcement of two more additions to the card.
The latest additions include a previously reported lightweight contest between Satoru Kitaoka and Jorge Masvidal as well as a featherweight bout between Shigeki Osawa and Ronnie Ushiwaka Mann.
Sengoku 11 takes place on Nov. 7 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, and will air in North America on HDNet.
Masvidal (18-4) fought most of 2009 with the Bellator Fighting Championships, going 2-1 with the upstart promotion and advancing to the promotion's lightweight tournament semifinals, where he lost to Toby Imada. He most recently defeated Eric Reynolds in a non-tournament bout at Bellator 10.
Kitaoka (25-9-9) failed to defend his Sengoku lightweight belt in his last bout as he was dethroned by Mizuto Hirota at Sengoku 9 in August. Prior to the loss, he won six straight, including wins in his first five bouts with Sengoku over the likes of Clay French, Eiji Mitsuoka, and Takanori Gomi.
Mann (16-2-1) is coming off a loss against Hatsu Hioki in the second round of World Victory Road's 2009 featherweight grand prix at May's Sengoku 8. Prior to the loss, he won five straight, including a win in his Sengoku debut against Tetsuya Yamada at Sengoku 7. The Shooto and Cage Rage veteran has finished 12 of his 16 career wins including 10 by submission.
Osawa has gone a perfect 4-0, the last three wins coming for Sengoku, since making his professional debut in April of this year. He most recently defeated Ki Hyun Kim at Sengoku 10 last month. Osawa has proved that he has the stamina to go the distance as three of his four career wins have been by decision.
