Krzysztof "The Polish Experiment" Soszynski contemplates retirement with the decision ultimately in the hands of doctors according to mmamania.com.
Soszynski is a 39 fight veteran which saw "The Polish Experiment" fight for numerous organizations that include the IFL, Strikeforce and the UFC. He was also a member of The Ultimate Fighter season 8, finishing as a semifinalist. He last fought Igor Pokrajac at UFC 140 and loss via KO just 35 seconds in the first round.
"I'll go see my doctor next week - so we'll see; depends on what the doctor says. If the doctor says I can get back to fighting, I would love to have at least one more fight, and go out the proper way, not the way I did against Igor. But if the doctor says that's about it, I'm going to respect that."
Soszynski has been suffering from consistent knee problems since UFC 110, where he fought Stephan Bonnar. Furthermore, that fight with Bonnar became a brutal war of attrition as both men punished each other for the better part of three rounds. Although Soszynski won via TKO from a cut, he says that he has not been the same since.
"We basically beat the crap out of each other, and ever since then I haven't been the same. I've basically been fighting maybe 50-60-percent capacity. I've been fighting with these obstacles now for close to two years," Soszynski said.
Hopefully Soszynski will get the go-ahead after medical examinations and be allowed to fight one last time before he calls it a career.
