A lightweight bout between rising contender Kurt Pellegrino and UFC sophomore Fabricio Camoes has been verbally agreed upon for UFC 111 on March 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
News of the bout was first revealed by Pellegrino on his official Twitter account and the bout has since been confirmed.
Pellegrino (14-4) was originally supposed to fight Frankie Edgar at TUF 10 finale last month, however, he was forced off of the event with a back injury.
Pellegrino is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Josh Neer at UFC 101: "Declaration" in August. The win was his third straight, with previous Octagon wins coming over Thiago Tavares and Rob Emerson. With the draw, he is now unbeaten in his last seven bouts, which includes a 2-0 mark in EliteXC's "ShoXC" series; as well as a first-round submission win over Torrance Taylor in his previous fight at Strikeforce Challengers 1 in May 2009.
Camoes, who is a a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Royler Gracie, has been competing professionally for over nine-years. He has scored stoppages in eight of his 10 career wins including six by submission.
