An undisclosed injury suffered in training has forced Team Voodoo fighter Kyle Bradley to withdraw from a preliminary card bout against Sam Stout, set to take place at UFC Fight Night 19 on September 16 in the Cox Convention Center, Oklahoma.
News of the injury broke via MMAmania.com and was later confirmed by fiveknuckles.com with sources close to Bradley. The UFC is actively seeking out a replacement to fight Stout with less then a month to go until the event.
Bradley defeated TUF 8 lightweight runner-up Phillipe Nover with a first-round TKO at UFC 98 in May, to secure his first victory in the octagon. The win wasn't without controversy however, as referee Yves Lavigne stopped the bout whilst Nover was attempting a submission, mistakenly believing that a powerful slam from Bradley had knocked him unconscious.
Prior to that win, Bradley was 0-2 in the UFC, losing out against both Chris Lytle and Joe Lauzon. The six-year veteran of the sport has put together a 14-6 MMA record, with 9 wins by TKO or KO and 4 by submission.
UFN 19 will serve as the lead-in to the tenth season of the Ultimate Fighter reality series. The event will be headlined by a lightweight bout between TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and fellow TUF alum Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard. In the co-main event, Roger "El Matador" Huerta will take on Gray Maynard in another lightweight feature.
