Davenport, IA native Kyle Dietz (5-1) will face Noah Thomas (13-5) at an upcoming WEC event. The news comes from Dietz himself in a recent interview with FiveKnuckles.com.
"The venue and date is still up in the air." Dietz said. "I hope its going to be in November at WEC 44, but possibly at WEC 45 in December."
Dietz, 23, recently dropped his WEC debut at WEC 41 in June to Rafeal Rebello and is eager to make up for what he's termed his "worst fight ever". The Team Evolution trained fighter is an accomplished wrestler with ever improving muy thai skills and was a two-time Midwest Kings of the Ring champion.
Thomas, coincidently, is also coming off a loss in his WEC debut at WEC 41 -- his to Frank Gomez via arm triangle choke in the second round. Thomas is perhaps best known for his time spent as part of The Ultimate Fighter season 5 cast where he was defeated by Manny Gamburyan in the first round of the tournament.
He was eventually kicked off of the show after he and Marlon Sims, who were both heavily drunk, got into a fight at the fighter house. The fight ended with Sims slamming Thomas on his head on the outside padio concrete. Both men were consequently removed from the show along with Allen Berube who escalated the confrontation.
