Last minute change to "Ultimate Chaos"
by Jacob Camargo on June 27, 2009

Longtime UFC veteran Din Thomas has been forced out of his featherweight bout against Javier Vazquez due to becoming ill after a difficult weight cut.

Ultimate Chaos: "Lashley vs. Sapp" is set to do down tonight from The Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi.

“Din pulled out. He had issues making weight and got himself sick.” said Romie Aram, a representative from the Vasquez camp, to Sherdog.com.

ATT fighter Din Thomas came in slightly over the featherweight limit at 146.6 pounds at the weigh-ins on Friday and immediately began to rehydrate thinking he didn't have to cut again. Officials later approached Thomas and said he'd be given additional time to cut to the contracted weight. Thomas' second weight cut during his hydrating state caused him to get sick and thus requiring medical attention.

Vazquez will still compete at the event as his new opponent is Mark Kergosien, who is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter hailing out of Mississippi. Vazquez is on a three fight win streak and will compete for the first time since announcing his retirement following his win over JC Pennington in 2007.
