A featherweight bout between former number one featherweight contender Leonard Garcia and Jameel Massouh has been added to the quickly evolving fight card for WEC 42. The news comes courtesy of MMAWeekly.
WEC 42 is slated to take place on August 9 from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of the evening is a WEC bantamweight title bout between current champ Miguel Torres and number one contender Brian Bowles.
Leonard Garica is coming off a loss to featherweight champ Mike Brown in a title fight at WEC 39 back in March. The loss snapped a two fight win steak Garcia had recently put together with wins over Jens Pulver and Hiroyuki Takaya. The former UFC fighter, Garcia, has been busy getting his "Team Jackson" teammate, Donald Cerrone, ready for his WEC 41 fight against James Krause.
Jameel Massouh is also coming off a recent loss, suffering a defeat in his WEC debut against highly touted featherweight, Rafael Assuncao at WEC 40. Prior to this fight, the Pancrese veteran, Massouh, was on a 5-fight win streak which included a victory over Team Quest fighter, Ryan Healy, last October.
