Light-heavyweight Jared Hamman signs with the UFC
by Jacob Camargo on August 28, 2009

The latest addition to the UFC's ever expanding roster is that of light-heavyweight prospect Jared Hamman. The length of the contract is four-fights, however, financial terms were not disclosed.

Hamman's UFC signing comes with a bit of a surprise as he was thought to have been aligned with Strikeforce. He was set to face Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante on the June 6th Strikeforce card, however, a injury knocked him off that event.

Hamman hasn't fought since defeating Poai Suganuma at ShoXC: "Hamman vs. Suganuma II" last August. Prior to the win, he suffered his first career loss against Poai Suganuma via a flying knee just 15 seconds into a fight.

Hamman sports a near perfect MMA record of 10-1 with all of his wins coming via stoppages. He holds notable wins in his career over Aaron Rosa and Travis Wiuff. He is also a teammate of fellow recent UFC signee Vladimir Matyushenko.
