Undefeated light-heavyweight prospect Jon Jones has been rewarded with a new four-fight contract from the UFC following a 3-0 start with the promotion, according to MMA Madness.com.
No date has been set for Jones' return, however, he's looking to return to the Octagon before December, as he and his wife are expecting their second child.
"Bones" has looked spectecular in his appearances inside the Octagon as he has dazzled with his unorthodox striking as well as his superb grappling and impressive throws.
Most recently, Jones defeated Jake O'Brien via second-round submission at UFC 100 in July. In previous bouts in the Octagon, he defeated TUF 1 light-heavyweight runner-up Stephan Bonnar at UFC 94 in January, and he scored a victory over Andre Gusmao in his debut with the promotion at last August's UFC 87.
Overall, Jones holds a perfect 9-0 MMA record, seven wins coming via stoppages. He also holds a notable win outside the UFC over EliteXC and Bellator veteran Moyses Gabin.
The National Junior College Wrestling Champion out of Iowa Central Community College most recently made the switch to train at Jackson's Submission Fighting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He started out his career training at Team BombSquad out of Cortland, New York, and then made a short stop at Tristar Gym in Montreal, Canada.
