Lyle Beerbohm wants Strikeforce lightweight title
by Jacob Camargo on September 15, 2009

“I learned from the [Rafaello] Oliveira fight not to start slow. I just want to get in there and get it done. So I went in there, got to the ground, and started dropping elbows. I landed seven unanswered ones and I knew it was over. I’ve got to find out what’s going on with my contract, but I want the [Strikeforce] belt. I want Thomson, Melendez, whoever. My ultimate goal is to be the 155 lbs. champ for Strikeforce.” -Lyle Beerbohm

Undefeated lightweight prospect Lyle Beerbohm talks about his eventual goal of capturing the Strikeforce lightweight title as well as his desire to fight the promotion's top lightweight fighters such as Josh Thomson and Gilbert Melendez.

Beerbohm's contract status with Strikeforce is not yet known, however, he is surely making his way up the Strikeforce lightweight division ladder at 2-0 so far with the promotion. The wins have came over Ray Perales and a very big win over tough veteran Duane Ludwig in his last outing with the promotion at June's Strikeforce Challengers event.

"Fancy Pants" most recently defeated Josh Martin via first-round TKO at this past Saturday's 'Arena Rumble' event. He sports an impressive 13-0 professional MMA record and a 23-0 overall record as he want 10-0 as a amateur. Beerbohm has finished all but one of his 13 professional wins and holds notable wins over the likes of Jorge Sarat and Rafaello Oliveira.
