Lyoto Machida To Fight Again In October
by Paulo Silva on July 10, 2008

Ed Soares who manages both Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva, was recently a guest on Tagg Radio. During the show, Soares reiterated Silva's earlier comments that the middleweight champion will not contend for the light heavyweight belt.

"He doesn't want to make a run at the championship because his friend Lyoto is in the line for it," Soares told Tagg Radio. "He doesn't want to fight Lyoto, and Lyoto doesn't want to fight him."

Soares did leave open the possibility of Silva moving up to light-heavyweight again but only as Soares stated that his client wants to be "involved in some of the biggest fights in UFC history."

Soares also said that Lyoto Machida will have to fight again before getting a shot at the light heavyweight belt. Machida's next fight will take place in October with an as of yet unnamed opponent already chosen.
