The full fight card for the durable and popular Canadian promotion Maximum Fighting Championship's next event, MFC 22: "Payoff," is set. The event will take place on October 2 at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and will air on HDNET.

The event will be headlined by a middleweight bout between 10-time UFC veteran Jason MacDonald and TUF 5 winner Travis Lutter. MacDonald has lost his last two bouts against Wilson Gouveia and Nate Quarry at UFC 97 in April, which led to his release from the promotion. Lutter has also lost two straight and he hasn't fought since last April's UFC 83, where he was defeated by Rich Franklin. Lutter was dropped by the UFC shortly after the loss.

In the co-main event, the MFC lightweight title will be on the line as current champ Antonio McKee will look to defend against WEC veteran Carlo Prater. McKee is riding an impressive eight-fight winning streak, with his most recent win coming against Derrick Noble at MFC 20 in February to capture the promotion's lightweight strap. Prater is 3-1 in his last four bouts and he last saw action in May at PFC 13: "Validation," where he defeated Dominique Robinson. His only loss during the stretch came against Brock Larson at WEC 35.

The undercard is riddled with UFC veterans as Luigi Fioravanti will take on John Alessio in a welterweight bout, and Ryan Jimmo will face Marvin Eastman in light-heavyweight action. Also in action, light-heavyweights David Heath and Mike Nickels will also duke it out as well as a welterweight bout between Pete Spratt and undefeated prospect Nathan Gunn.
