Ultimate Fighter winners are set for a lightweight battle as Mac Danzig takes on Efrain Escudero at UFC 145 according to ufc.com.
Danzig (20-9-1), TUF 6 winner, has been on and off lately, going 2-2 over four fights. A unanimous decision victory over Justin Buchholz and a KO over Joe Stevenson is offset by two defeats at the hands of Matt Wiman. Their first meeting at UFC 115 ended in controversy, the referee stopped the bout early thinking that Danzig was unconscious from Wiman's guillotine choke. Danzig's last fight and rematch with Wiman was a Fight of the Night worthy performance by both men who battled it out for three rounds, Wiman emerged with the unanimous decision win.
Escudero (18-4), TUF 8, recently returned to the UFC at UFC 141. He fought Jacob Volkmann and loss via unanimous decision, although Escudero nearly submitted Volkmann in the closing seconds. Escudero was previously cut from the promotion after he missed weight and loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Palhares. Escudero is 5-2 over his last seven fights.
UFC 145 is set for March 24 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
