Manny Gamburyan (11-5) has been forced out of his March 19th bout with Raphael Assuncao (15-3) after suffering a back injury while training, according to MMAFighting.com.
The UFC is currently searching for a last minute replacement to face Assuncao.
Gamburyan would have been making his sixth trip to the Octagon, after a failed 2-3 stint at lightweight. The Armenian wrestler then dropped down to the featherweight division and quickly compiled 3-0 record. He earned a fight with champion Jose Aldo, where he was knocked out in the second round. He hasn't competed since then.
Assuncao is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt with a 3-2 record inside the WEC. After starting his career 14-1, he dropped two straight to Urijah Faber and Diego Nunes. Since then he has picked up a decision victory over LC Davis this past November.
UFC 128 features a light heavyweight title fight between Mauricio Rua and Jon Jones.
