by Jacob Camargo on September 08, 2009

Welterweights Marcus Davis and Ben Saunders will look to rebound from recent losses when they square off against each other at UFC 106 in November. The news of the bout was reported by MMAjunkie.com.

The UFC 106 bout against Saunders will be Davis' first fight in the United States since defeating Pete Spratt at UFC 69 in April 2007. He has been busy competing overseas for UFC cards that took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland; Birmingham, London (2x); Newcastle, England; Dublin, Ireland and Cologne, Germany.

Davis (16-5) most recently suffered a close split decision loss against Dan Hardy at UFC 99 in June. Prior to the loss, he had won two straight fights against Paul Kelly at UFC 89 and Chris Lytle at UFC 93. Davis sports a 8-3 record in 11 fights with the UFC, with other big wins over the likes of Jess Liaudin, Paul Taylor and Shonie Carter. The former professional boxer has finished 13 of his 16 career wins.

Saunders (7-1-2) is coming off a loss to Mike Swick at UFC 99. The American Top Team fighter previously won seven straight bouts, which included wins in his first three bouts in the UFC over Daniel Barrera, Ryan Thomas and  Brandon Wolff. Out of his seven career wins, three have come via TKO or KO, and three have come via submission stoppage.

UFC 106 takes place on Nov. 21 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will feature a main event UFC heavyweight title bout between current champ Brock Lesnar and challenger Shane Carwin. In the co-main event, former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz will make his return to the Octagon against UFC Hall of Famer, Mark Coleman.
