Marcus Jones vs. Matt Mitrione announced for TUF 10 finale
by Jacob Camargo on December 03, 2009

The Ultimate Fighter season 10 cast members Marcus Jones and Matt Mitrione will both make their official UFC debuts when they face each other at this weekend's TUF 10 Finale. The bout was announced during tonight's TUF 10 final episode.

Following his loss to Brendan Schaub in tonight's episode, Jones said that he may be done fighting, however, it appears he had a change of heart with the news of his fight announcement against Mitrione.

There may be still a little bad blood between Jones and Mitrione from what transpired on tonight's episode. Jones got heated once he heard that his Team Rampage teammate and friend, Scott Junk, might not fight again due to an eye injury that he suffered in his fight against Mitrione. Jones entered the training facility with bad intentions and immediately got in Mitrione's face. The fellow TUF 10 cast members had to pull Jones away from Mitrione and eventually he calmed down.

The ex-NFL football players, Jones and Mitrione, were on separate teams on The Ultimate Fighter 10 reality show as Jones was on Team Rampage and Mitrione was on Team Rashad. Jones advanced in the heavyweight tournament by defeating UFC veteran Mike Wessel but would go onto lose to Brendan Schaub in the semi-finals. Mitrione scored a unanimous decison win over former UFC fighter Scott Junk in the opening round, however, he lost in the quarter-finals to James McSweeney.

Prior to joining TUF 10, Jones put together a 4-1 MMA record since making his pro debut in Oct. 2007. He last saw action picking up his second straight win by defeating John Juarez at XCF: "Rumble in Racetown 1" in February. The World Fighting Championships veteran has finished all four of his career wins including three by TKO or KO.

Mitrione has no professional bouts to his name and only trained in MMA for about a year and a half prior to joining TUF 10. He showed during the show that he has a granite chin and packs so much power in his punches, even impressing UFC President Dana White with his power.

TUF 10 Finale takes place on Dec. 5 at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV, and the main card will be televised on Spike TV. The event will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between undefeated phenom Jon "Bones" Jones and contender Matt Hamill.

In addition, TUF 10 heavyweight finalists Brendan Schaub and Roy Nelson will battle it out to see who gets the six-figure UFC contract. Other bouts featured include Frankie Edgar vs. Matt Veach, Houston Alexander vs. Kimbo Slice and Dennis Hallman vs. John Howard.
