by Hubert Lau on June 07, 2011

An unspecified injury has forced Martin Kampmann out of his bout with John Howard. The Ultimate Fighter season 7 veteran, Matt Brown, has stepped up to face Howard on UFC on Versus 4 according to ufc.com.

The bout will be a must win for both men, each on a losing streak despite a strong start with the UFC. Brown emerged as the tough-as-nails personality on the seventh season of the Ultimate Fighter, going 4-1 in his five fights since his appearance on the show. However in his last three fights, he lost all three via submissions. Howard started off with a 5-0 record in the UFC before losing consecutively to upper tier welterweights, Jake Ellenberger and Thiago Alves.

On the same card, Rick Story will replace an injured Anthony Johnson to fight Nate Marquardt in a welterweight tilt. Other bouts on the main card include hard hitting Cheick Kongo fighting fellow striker, Pat Barry. Matt Mitrione set to battle Christian Morecraft.

UFC on Versus 4 is scheduled on June 26 at Pittsburgh Consol Energy Center.

 |  (16) Comments mmalissa: darn! snuff: I got Howard by TKO. White must really like Brown a lot for him to be still under the UFC with 3 straight loses and a crappy record. But the man brings it. And that's what White wants. Also happy because I would have liked Kampmann to have sure win fight to get of the losing streak. :D Suicidalforlife: Poor Kampmann can't get a break, anybody any idea what's up with injury as in how long he will be out etc GO HARD: im tired of all these inuries. fighters need to take it a little easy or something. cant even get excited for fights anymore... cuz people always pull out with injuries. illegalpoke: Igor Pokrajac's out too. Replaced by Mike Massenzio. That's three fighters for Soszynski. seedheadondatrak: Was excited for this too. Was thinking Kampmann was going to get the sub (choke) and get back on the right track. Plus, this had the makings for an exciting fight. That said I love watching Matt Brown fight, he always brings it!! I have never seen him in a boring fight, win or lose!! flyangler: Aw Shucks:( This shouldn't be such a bad fight though. Brown will push the pace then get KO'ed. Wandering_Minstrel: Should still be a good fight. Someone is going to sleep though.
