Matt Hughes Wants Matt Serra Next
by Jason Benfari on January 02, 2008

Though Matt Hughes seemed dejected after the sound beating he received this past Saturday at the hands of Georges St. Pierre, he doesn't appear ready to retire just yet according to comments he made to CBSSportline.com.

"I'm not going to come out here and be someone's highlight reel," said Hughes, "I have to see what the UFC wants me to do, and I have to see what my family wants me to do."

Asked if he still wanted to fight Matt Serra, Hughes responded, "I want to fight Matt Serra. Yes, I do. I’ve already talked to Dana and Lorenzo, and we’ll probably see what happens with Georges and Serra. If Serra loses, I might go against him. Nothing is set in stone, just an idea right now."

Hughes also offered a prediction of a possible title fight between Serra and St. Pierre.

"I think when Georges St. Pierre and Matt Serra match up again it will be a completely different fight," said Hughes. "Serra is going to go down. He won't be around for long."
