Surefire UFC Hall-of-Famer Matt Hughes met with UFC head honchos Dana White and Lorenzo Fertita today regarding his future with the organization and likely upcoming opponents. Hughes is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Matt Serra in his last outing at UFC 98 back in May, but is 2-3 in his past five fights.

"Tomorrow, I fly out to the UFC to talk with Lorenzo and Dana to figure out what we're going to do," said Hughes in a blog post last night. "So I should have more news next week. I did hear that Matt Serra was running his mouth and to be honest, I'm not surprised. He never was able to keep it shut in the past, why would anybody think he would do it now?"

The two former welterweight champions have a rivalry that dates back to their time spent as opposing coaches on the fifth season of Spike TV's "The Ultimate Fighter". Their rivalry came to a head when the two squared off at UFC 98, after which both men embraced and seemed willing to let go of their personal issues with one another. However, months later, Serra decided to stir the pot by calling for a rematch.

"I'm not going to sit here and bad mouth the guy because we did fight," Serra told MMA Weekly. "I'm not going to attack him personally, but at the same time I do feel I won that fight, or at least I should have got the nod. If not, it's a draw and let's do it again."I do feel I won that fight," Serra told MMA Weekly. "Or, at least I should have got the nod. If not, it's a draw and let's do it again. I think we should do it again. Why not? I think it would be fun for everybody."

A rematch between the two is possible according to Serra and Hughes comments suggest that he may be open to the fight as well. We'll have more on this story as it continues to develop.
