Another noteworthy MMA event took place this past weekend as the inaugural show for Call To Arms occurred Saturday night at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
The headliner was a light-heavyweight bout between Affliction veteran Vladimir Matyushenko and UFC veteran Jason Lambert. Matyushenko earned a unanimous decision victory over the slumping Lambert who dropped his fourth straight.
Matyushenko (22-4) was coming off a knockout loss to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at Affliction: "Day of Reckoning" back in January. Meanwhile, Lambert is in the midst of a 4-fight losing streak, with losses to Jason MacDonald, Luiz Cane, Wilson Gouveia, and now Matyushenko.
In other notable fights on the card, UFC and WEC veteran Tiki Ghosn picked up his second straight win by defeating Brian Warren, former WWE professional wrestler Daniel Puder returned from over a year and a half layoff to defeat Jeff Ford, one-time Affliction fighter Brett Cooper defeated Joe Cronin and fast rising prospect Georgi Karakhanyan earned his 8th straight win over Albert Rios.
