Michael Bisping: "If I won that fight, I would have been fighting for the title."
by Natalia Baage on November 11, 2009

"Number one prediction - it's going to be a hell of a fight.  I'm just going to go out there and fight like a mad man and get my respect. I want to destroy him. If you pressure him and put him on his back, his technique goes a little bit. Denis Kang is a good fighter. He's very explosive, athletic, BJJ black belt, great wrestler, good thai boxer and fought a lot of K-1 fights. I've got to be sharp on the ground, sharp on my feet, I've got to be in good shape. Denis is very well-rounded and I've got to be prepared for all scenarios. I've been dying to fight in Manchester ever since the first time. I'm thrilled to be fighting back in Manchester and can't wait. I get to train at home for this and I'm not on the other side of the world. I think for my family, my last fight was hard to watch. I know my son watched it and he cried. That upsets me to think that. I don't want my son to have to go through that again. I want him to be full of joy when he watches me fight. I want him to see me win, see me kick ass. I've got a lot of work to do to make sure that doesn't happen again. I don't come to the gym to mess around. I don't drive two hours to come in here and mess around. I've got bills to pay. I've got kids to provide for. Denis better train hard because I'm training 100%.

"I wanted to fight a top ten guy ya know - top five, even. If I would have won that fight, I would have been fighting for the title right now. Instead, I'm fighting Denis Kang. I know it sounds silly but I want to go back to the old Michael Bisping. Go out there, balls to the wall and just have it. I just want to go out there and fight, and beat people. That's what I used to do."  - Michael Bisping

In his last fight, Michael Bisping took on Dan Henderson at UFC 100 in July.  Bisping lost via second-round knockout.  While he still holds a 17-2 record (7-2 UFC), he is looking to regain status as a title contender.

To do so, he must get through Denis Kang (32-11-1, 2 NC), a tough submission fighter who has fought in numerous organizations throughout the years before ending up with the UFC at the beginning of 2009.  His current UFC record is 1-1.

Bisping and Kang will battle it out this Saturday at UFC 105 in Manchester, England - Bisping's home country.  The event will be televised like on Spike TV, starting at 8 p.m. EST.
