Michael Bisping vs. Denis Kang likely for UFC 105
by Jacob Camargo on August 22, 2009

The bouts just keep on rolling for UFC 105,with the most recent addition to the ever-growing event seeing TUF 3 light-heavyweight winner Michael Bisping (17-2) return to the octagon for the first time since July to take on fellow middleweight Denis Kang (32-11-1). News of the bout came via Fighter's Only.

According to the report, Bisping was origally slated to headline the event, but his middleweight matchup with Kang will be relegated to co-main event status. A new high profile main event will be announced shorty.

"The Count" was originally rumored to headline UFC 105 against Wanderlei Silva, however, that bout was scrapped after Silva recently had facial surgery.

UFC 105 was to be the event that Bisping would challenge UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva if he was successful against Dan Henderson at July's UFC 100, however, things didn't go as planned for Bisping and he suffered a devastating Knockout loss.

Prior to the loss, he had won three straight since dropping down to the middleweight divison, with wins over Charles McCarthy, Jason Day and Chris Leben. Since his official debut with the UFC in June 2006, Bisping has put together a solid 7-2 record, with notable wins against Eric Schafer and Matt Hamill. His only other loss in the octagon came against Rashad Evans. The Cage Rage veteran has finished 15 of his 17 career wins including 11 by TKO or KO.

Kang picked up his first UFC win in his last fight, by defeating Xavier Foupa-Pokam at UFC 97 in April. Prior to the win, Kang had lost his octagon debut against Alan Belcher at UFC 93 in January. The 11-year veteran of the sport has fought throughout Japan and Korea for such promotions as Pancrese, Pride and Spirit MC. Twenty-seven of his 32 career wins have came via stoppages, including 15 by submission and 12 by TKO or KO. He holds notable career wins over the likes of Pat Healy, Marvin Eastman, Andrei Semenov, Amar Suloev, Murilo Rua and Akihiro Gono.

UFC 105 will take place on November 14 in the Manchester Evening News Arena, Manchester, England. UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn is in talks to defend his title against Diego Sanchez at the event.
