Michael Johnson replaces an injured Thiago Tavares, set to fight Tony Ferguson at UFC on Fox 3

Ultimate Fighters will tangle as season twelve runner-up, Michael Johnson, is set to fight season 14 winner, Tony Ferguson, at UFC on Fox 3 according to mmajunkie.com.

This will be the third time Ferguson has received a new opponent, matchups with Dennis Hallman and Thiago Tavares has fallen through due to injuries to both men.

Johnson (10-6) last scored a unanimous decision over Shane Roller at UFC on Fox 2. Johnson is 2-2 since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter. Johnson also holds a notable win over Eddie Faaloloto, defeating him via TKO in the first round at UFC Live: Kongo vs. Barry.

Ferguson (13-3) has been on a roll, riding a six fight win streak that dates back to 2009. In his last two Octagon outings, Ferguson defeated two UFC veterans in Aaron Riley and Yves Edwards by TKO and unanimous decision respectively.

UFC on Fox 3 is set for May 5 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey and will host the main event pitting Nate Diaz against Jim Miller.
