Middleweight prospect Goran Reljic on the road back to UFC return
by Jacob Camargo on May 11, 2009

UFC middleweight prospect Goran Reljic has been cleared to start light training following back surgery last February. Reljic suffered the injury while preparing for his middleweight debut against Thales Leites at UFC 90 back in October of 2008.

The undefeated Reljic (8-0), comes off an impressive UFC debut against Wilson Gouveia (at UFC 84) in which both men earned $75,000 "Fight of the Night" bonuses. Reljic trains out of the Roger Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in London, England. Reljic is currently a Gracie purple belt.

“I have to be very specific on his programs for rehabilitation and training because he likes to train and spar like he fights, and the human body is just not made to take pressure like that especially on back and joints where fighters get hurt the most." said Reljic’s manager Zoran Saric to MMAFighting.com. "[The] UFC is waiting very patiently for his comeback and I can’t tell [you] how much Goran is waiting to step in Octagon again.”
