"I want a shot with Brian Bowles. I want to fight him again. I've got to get a fight lined up. I'm looking toward January, after the new year, and I want to get my title back. I want to get one fight in and get my title shot. I know that Dominick (Cruz) has earned his shot, so I don't want to take that. If he beats Bowles, and Bowles isn't the champ of the world, I want to fight Bowles before I get a title shot. We'll see what the WEC says. I'm willing to fight whoever they put in front of me. I got caught in my last fight, I got a little bit cocky. That's not going to happen again." - Miguel Torres
Former WEC bantamweight champion and pound-for-pound mainstay Miguel Torres greeted fans at a recent WEC Q and A session where he answered a variety of questions including those pertaining to his recent loss at the hands of current WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles.
Torres (37-2) had reeled off an astounding seventeen straight victories and had not lost since 2003 before succumbing to the currently undefeated Bowles at WEC 42 in August.
The highly regarded WEC superstar has enlisted the help of famed MMA trainer Mark Dellagrotte at Sityodtong U.S.A. where he'll join good friend Frank Mir, to train alongside Marcus Davis, Jorge Rivera, Pat Berry and others.
Torres will likely be forced to wait while up-and-coming bantamweight prospect Dominik Cruz gets next dibs at the bantamweight title opposite Bowles, but Torres would like a shot at Bowles regardless of that fights' outcome.
