Mike Brown looks to get back on track against Anthony Morrison at WEC 46
by Gavin Vincent on January 07, 2010

Mike Brown (21-4) is coming off a devastating loss to current WEC featherweight champ Jose Aldo at WEC 44. Aldo managed to avoid Brown's relentless take downs and pound him out midway through the second round. Determined to avenge the loss, Brown asked and received another fight less than two months after losing the title.

"The morning after Mike Brown lost his title to Jose Aldo, my phone rang at 8 am," said WEC General Manager Reed Harris. "Mike Brown said to me, 'Put me back in the cage as soon as you can!'"

To get back on track, Brown has to defeat Anthony "Mean Machine" Morrison (10-7) who is coming off a recent win over Alvin Robinson at Ring of Fire 36: Demolition.

"Mike Brown is one of the top guys at 145." said Harris. "He knows to get back on track he not only has to beat Anthony Morrison -- he has to beat him bad."

WEC 46 is scheduled to take place this Sunday at 8:00 PM EST and features the lightweight unification title fight between Ben Henderson and Jamie Varner.
