Mirko Filipovic and Roy Nelson have verbally agreed to fight each other at UFC 137 in October according to fightersonlymagazine.co.uk.
Both men would likely be fighting for their UFC careers when they battle each other in the October event.
Nelson (15-6) has been on a two fight skid, losing to Junior dos Santos and Frank Mir by unanimous decisions. Nelson is already on thin ice with the UFC after UFC president, Dana White, expressed harsh criticism questioning Nelson's preparations in those defeats.
Filipovic (27-9-2 (1 no contest)), more famously known as Cro Cop, has similarly been on a decline. Once the most feared striker in MMA with his trademark "right kick hospital, left kick cemetery" Cro Cop has been on the receiving end of knockout loses to Frank Mir and Brendan Schaub.
A loss for Cro Cop can very well mean the end of his career; the Croatian has talked of retirement in each of his past two defeats.
UFC 137 is expected to be held on October 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a welterweight title bout between George St. Pierre defending his title against Nick Diaz.
