British heavyweight Mostapha Al Turk is preparing well for his showdown with Rolles Gracie on the undercard of UFC 109, if his recent comments to MMA Unltd are anything to go by.
Despite a defeat possibly ending his short stint with the UFC, Al Turk, 6-5, is confident that he will be the one with his hand raised come February 6th.
He told MMA Unltd magazine: "I believe I've got more experience in MMA than him and I believe I'm a better overall fighter and it will be the difference. He's also unbeaten so doesn't know how to lose, though that will change next month."
Coming off losses to Cheick Kongo and Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic, Al Turk had no hesitation in taking the fight, despite the legendary name attached.
"The Gracie name, or any other name for that matter, has no impact on me," Al Turk said. "My first reaction was, 'great why not?' He's a great grappler who will test me as a mixed martial artist."
Al Turk clearly has no fear of the cut and admits he wants a little redemption after the somewhat controversial loss to Cro Cop.
"I take it one fight at a time and don't think about what comes after a fight," He said. "I'm just looking at getting back in the Octagon and getting some redemption after my last fight."
Gracie, 3-0, has won all three of his bouts by submission in the first round, and presents a third huge challenge for Al Turk in his UFC career thus far.
Al Turk holds notable wins over Mark Kerr and TUF 10 alumni James McSweeney, he has finished all six of his victories but has yet to win in two bouts with the UFC.
