New Brock Lesnar update: Comments from trainers
by Natalia Baage on January 08, 2010

With everyone anxious about more news about Brock Lesnar's health, one of his trainers, Marty Morgan, was on hand for comment, although he did not provide the yes or no answer that everyone is wondering about Lesnar's fighting future.

Speaking to Sportsnet.ca, Morgan spoke about Lesnar's health a slight bit more than Dana White's "no comment" yesterday, but still was unable to give a definitive answer about the heavyweight champion's future.

"Everyone's asking about his health," Morgan said. "He had a bout with a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract in November, and now we're just kind of working our way to get back to where we need to get back to fight."

Throughout his illnesses, Lesnar has remained quiet. White has been shedding light on the champion's maladies. However, White has recently held back and not talked about the recent information that he had obtained. Lesnar's friends are doing the same.

"I don't give more answers than that," Morgan said. "Brock don't give more answers, and his agents don't give more answers. There's really only a handful of people who know where we're at, whether it's moving forwards or backwards."

However, Greg Nelson, another one of Lesnar's trainers, who was able to give the most confident statement.

"Yes, he will fight," Nelson wrote to MMAJunkie.com via text message. "When? Not sure as of yet, but he will fight."

Morgan was also hopeful that Lesnar will make a recovery and return to the Octagon in the future.

"He will fight again," said Morgan. "I know that it's just a matter of the public finding out when - soon enough."

While it seems crucial for fans and the rest of the heavyweight division to be up to date on Lesnar's health, Morgan does not see it that way. He is annoyed by the status updates and privacy intrusions of Facebook and Twitter,

"I understand people, granted, want to know how his health is but at this point, right now, we've kind of just kept quiet with what's going on," he said.
