Ultimate Fight Night 17 wasn't the only MMA action this weekend. Here are some notable MMA athletes who fought this weekend:

- Marcus Aurelio knocked out Chris Liguori in the World Cagefighting Alliance main event on Friday. Aurelio was coming off a two fight losing streak in the UFC which resulted in his exit from the organization. Also on the card that night was TUF 7 alum Paul Bradley (10-0), who won a split decision over Team Quest fighter Nathan Coy.

- UFC veteran Din Thomas, who made the drop from lightweight to featherweight, was victorious over Dustin Peiter in the Headhunters Fight League main event. Former Olympian and two-time NCAA Division I national wrestling champ Ben Askren made his MMA debut on the same event, defeating Josh Flowers via TKO.

- Highly touted featherweight Alexis Vila, Ulysses Gomez, and Erin Toughill all won their fights for the Palace Fighting Championship's “Best of Both Worlds” event.
