After noted difficulties making weight in the past, both Gina Carano and Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos made the 145-pound limit for their historic bout this Saturday. Universally regarded as the top two female fighters in the world, Carano and Santos will meet for the recently created Strikeforce 145 pound Women's Championship. The event, which will be televised on Showtime will be the first major MMA event headlined by woman combatants.
The rest of the cards' participants made weight as well except for UFC outcast Jesse Taylor. Taylor weight in at 172-pounds and has one hour to drop a pound to get to the welterweight limit of 171-pounds for non title fights.
