The UFC on Saturday announced the official fight card for UFC 97: “Redemption”. UFC 97 will take place on April 18 at the Bell Centre in Montreal and the main card will be televised live on PPV.

UFC 97 will be the UFC’s second straight sell out in Montreal; UFC's first visit to Canada for UFC 83 last April produced the promotion’s all-time attendance (21,390) and live gate ($5.1 million) records.

UFC 97 features a main event of dominant middleweight champion Anderson Silva defending his belt against top middleweight contender Thales Leites. In the co-main event, former UFC light-heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell will take on former top ranked light-heavyweight Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

The main card also features a very explosive light-heavyweight bout between TUF 8 cast member Krzysztof Soszynski and former WEC light-heavyweight champ Brian Stann, Cheick Kongo will also fight against Antoni Hardonk in a pivotal heavyweight matchup. Rounding out the main card is a sure to be exciting light-heavyweight matchup between Luis Cane and Steve Cantwell.

The undercard is just as stacked as it features notables UFC fighters Denis Kang, David Loiseau, Jason MacDonald, Nate Quarry and Ed Herman.
