The official fighter salaries for WEC 44: "Brown vs. Aldo" were recently released from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The event took place this past Wednesday, on Nov. 18, from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
The event's top earner was co-main event winner Manny Gamburyan, who pocketed $36,000. TUF 5 runner-up Gamburyan defeated fellow former UFC lightweight Leonard Garcia via unanimous decision.
Newly-crowned WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo was the second biggest earner, taking home $26,000 for his second-round TKO win over former champion Mike Brown. Aldo also pocketed an extra $10,000, as he was awarded the "Knockout of the Night" fight night bonus.
Others top earners from the event included Shane Roller ($24,000), Rob McCullough ($20,000), Cub Swanson ($18,000) and Mike Brown (15,000).
Also of note, Main card fighter Shane Roller and preliminary card fighters Cub Swanson and John Franchi each earned an additional $10,000, as they were awarded the other fight night bonuses. Roller took home "Submission of the Night" for his third-round submission win over Danny Castillo. Swanson and Franchi were awarded "Fight of the Night" for their three round war, which saw Swanson walk away with the third-round submission win.
