Former kickboxers and current UFC heavyweights Pat Barry and Antoni Hardonk will look to rebound from recent losses suffered inside the ocatgon when they square off at UFC 104. News of the bout comes courtesy of MMAWeekly.com.
Barry suffered the first loss of his career against UFC newcomer Tim Hague at UFC 98 in May. Prior to the loss, Barry defeated Dan Evensen in his octagon debut at UFC 92 in December of 2008. He's now compiled a 4-1 MMA record, with all of his wins coming via first round knockouts.
Hardonk (8-5) recently made headlines for thwarting an robbery attempt when he was in Los Angeles. Hardonk stopped the robbers twice, once when the attempted to rob him and then again after they tried doing the same thing to somebody else moments later.
The highly respected former kickboxer is coming off a loss to Cheick Kongo at UFC 97 in April. The loss snapped a three fight win streak Hardonk had put together. He now sports a 4-3 record in seven fights with the UFC, earning notable wins over Sherman Pendergarst, Eddie Sanchez and Mike Wessel. None of Hardonks eight victories has gone to decision and he holds other notable wins over Wes Sims and Ibragim Magomedov.
UFC 104 takes place on October 24 in Los Angeles, California. The event will be headlined by a light-heavyweight title bout between current champion Lyoto Machida and challenger Maurico "Shogun" Rua.
