The UFC has decided to extend Paul Daley's contract with six more fights after the British knockout sensation made his presence known immediately in the organization by impressively winning his first two fights. News of Daley's UFC contract extension was first reported by the Telegraph.
The first fight under his new extended contract will come against fellow welterweight contender Josh Koscheck in what will be the co-headlining bout of UFC 113 in May. The winner of the bout will likely earn a title shot against the winner of the UFC welterweight title contest between champion Georges St. Pierre and challenger Dan Hardy.
Daley entered the UFC with a bang, scoring a brutal first-round TKO win over former contender Martin Kampmann in his UFC debut in September at UFC 103. His momentum gained steam and he further solidified himself a contender in the UFC's crowded welterweight division in his next outing where he picked up his fourth straight win by notching a vicious first-round knockout over Dustin Hazelett at UFC 108. The win earned Daley "Knockout of the Night" honors.
Daley has fought all over the UK, as well as North America with Strikeforce, SportFight, EliteXC and MFC. However, he has fought a good portion of his career with the Cage Warriors Fighting Championships and Cage Rage promotions.
"Semtex" has put together a 23-8-2 MMA record over his six-year professional Mixed Marital Arts career and has finished 18 of his 22 career wins by TKO or KO. He holds notable wins over the likes of Dave Strasser, Xavier Foupa-Pokam, Jess Liaudin, Duane Ludwig and John Alessio.
