The UFC has bolstered its already stacked welterweight division with the recent signing of explosive British striker Paul Daley. News of the signing comes via Fighters Only.
Daley (21-8-2) catches on with the UFC following the folding of Affliction's MMA promotional operations. Financial terms are currently undisclosed, but the deal locks the British native down with the UFC for four fights. No opponent or date has been set for his octagon debut, however, one could imagine he would make a perfect fit for the UFC 105 fight card, which takes place in Manchester, England.
Daley was set to take on former IFL welterweight champion Jay Hieron at Affliction: "Trilogy" on August 1 before the promotion canceled the event. "Semtex" has won his last two fights, his most recent win coming against Junior Barata at a World Free Fight Challenge event in April. He's put together an amazing 16 wins by TKO or KO.
During his career, Daley's fought for an array of promotions including, Strikeforce, EliteXC, MFC, Cage Rage, Sportfight and Pancrese. He holds notable wins over the likes of Jess Liaudin, Xavier Foupa-Pokam, Duane Ludwig, John Alessio and Mark Weir.
