Paul Daley vs. Evangelista Santos official for Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson
by Hubert Lau on June 20, 2011

Paul Daley and Evangelista Santos will square off as the bout was confirmed during Strikeforce's post fight press conference at the Strikeforce: Dallas event.

Both men have recently challenged Nick Diaz for his Strikeforce welterweight crown but the two were unsuccessful in their endeavor. Diaz recently vacated his belt to challenge the UFC's welterweight champion, George St. Pierre. As a result the upcoming bout between the two strikers can be for the vacant Stirkeforce welterweight title.

Daley is 27-10-2, with the majority of his wins coming from tko/ko. Before losing to Diaz, Daley was on a four fight win streak and defeated Strikeforce notable, Scott Smith.

Santos is 18-14 and similarly features many tko/ko in his wins. Contrastingly, Daley has been the more consistent of the two. Since 2006, Santos has been on a 6-7 run and was unable to string more than two wins together.

Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson is slated for July 30th at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
